Tariff Concession Orders
Tariff Concession Orders (TCOs) are Australian concession, which helps importers reduce costs, by allowing duty-free entry for the goods where there are no Australian manufacturers.
To claim TCO under Australian law, the imported goods must:
- be classifiable to the tariff classification to which the TCO is keyed
- meet the description given to the TCO

Help for manufacturers
The Tariff Concession System is designed to assist manufacturers with tariff protection. It is administered by the Australian Border Force. These programs provide help to Australian producers, across Commonwealth and State Government.
Reducing the cost of imported parts
Manufacturers using imported parts in their products might be able to claim concessions on some of those parts. The concession is possible to apply if the imported parts are eligible for Tariff Concession Orders (TCOs).
Manufacturers seeking to reduce the cost of imported inputs can request Tariff Advice. This advice will classify the goods and determine what the applicable rate of duty is.
It is possible that a TCO already exists for specific goods, and will allow duty-free entry. The Tariff Advice will also show any TCOs that may apply to your goods.
